RETRO:BYTES Launch
RETRO:BYTES Lite finally launched today, bringing to the retro gaming and computing world a short and snappy electronic-form magazine that fits snugly into most hard drives. Available to download at just £1, the first issue has 20 virtual pages of retro goodness. We talk to Cinemaware's intrepid founder Bob Jacob, round up the latest news, review two Jap shooters for the SegaSaturn, have a picture of a Gizmondo and even manages quotes from Margaret Thatcher!
R:B Lite costs just £1 to download from Download Trader, and is readable with Adobe Reader. Editor Shaun Bebbington said, "It's been like a roller-coaster with RETRO:BYTES, but all of the effort is paying off, and I'm extremely pleased to finally launch it, albeit a cut-down electronic version of what I originally intended. We're now looking for methods outside traditional printed matter to bring this 'zine to many retro gaming and computing enthusiasts in the new year, and so far have had a positive response; The first copy of R:B Lite was purchased within one minute of it going live on Download Trader. That's a very promising sign, and I hope that momentum will gradually build from here."
More information on the RETRO:BYTES project will be announced early in the new year.
