Publisher Kalypso Media has today confirmed their entry into the iPhone / iPod Touch gaming market with their first release, Ceville. An action-arcade version of the highly acclaimed PC adventure, Ceville will be available this December from the iTunes App Store.
"In addition to our boxed retail distribution and global digital distribution, we are now expanding our business activities by developing and releasing our first iPhone/iPod Touch game. Starting with our own brand, Ceville, this pilot project will help us determine the extent of our expansion into mobile gaming activities in 2010," Said Simon Hellwig, Global Managing Director Kalypso Media Group.
Stefan Marcinek, Global Managing Director Kalypso Media Group adds: "The iPhone and iPod Touch gaming market allows us to connect with a whole new audience and adds to our ever growing portfolio. If successful, further releases based on Kalypso brands could be released next year."
The Ceville iPhone/iPod Touch game is an arcade version of the hit PC adventure of the same name. The two main characters, Ceville and Lilly, are tasked with achieving the highest scores across three challenging levels of arcade action gameplay. Graphically very close to the PC title, the mobile version also features the original game music and voice-overs will be available in English and German languages.
