Game Boxart Rift: Planes of Telara is Trion's entry into the already rather crowded world of Fantasy MMORPGs, and quite an entry it is. Rift advertises itself by saying "We're not in Azeroth any more", however it would be hard to believe that statement if you w

Contact-Free Charger for Wii
Written by: Etali
Date: 2009-08-14
Speedlink are offering a contact-free charger for Wiimotes. The charger works by using an induction field. Just place the Wiimotes on the charger, and they'll have their power topped up! No need to mess around with cables or contacts. The charing process works from the moment you put the Wiimote on the charging plate, and there's no need to live your Wii powered on while the Wiimotes are charging.

The Contact-Free Charger offers you the opportunity to charge up to two Wiimotes or battery packs at the same time. Silicone skins or Nunchuks can stay attached, and even the MotionPlus accessory doesn't need to be removed during charging.

To use the Contact-Free Charger, all you need to do is replace the standard batteries in the Wiimotes with the supplied battery packs. During the charging process, the Contact-Free Charger's integrated LED will light up red, turning blue as soon as the Wiimotes are fully charged.

The Contact-Free Charger connects between the AC adapter and the Wii console using the supplied T cable allowing the Wiimotes to be charged even when the Wii console is off.

It takes up to four hours to fully charge a flat battery pack - which isn't any longer than a normal charger. After six hours, the power supply is automatically cut-off to prevent overcharging. Each battery pack provides up to 20 hours of gaming time - which means you have 2x20 hours in total.
The SPEEDLINK Contact-Free Charger for the Wii is available now, and has a recommended price of GBP39.99
