The dust has still not even settled on the battle to win the league, let alone to avoid relegation, and the media is full of stories linking this or that player to this or that club as managers prepare for the end of the season and the opening of the transfer window. Already Arsenal have lost a stalwart of their team this year, Matthieu Flamini being on his way to AC Milan, and there are rumours that Hleb will follow his ex-teammate to Milan to join AC rivals Inter.
So already managers are preparing for next season, and it is inevitable that before long there will be claims from certain areas that this will 'be their season', inevitably, though, the challenges fail and the top of the table looks more or less the same as ever.
At the outset of the season there are always some interesting bets to be had, predicting the final position of certain teams is pretty standard when it comes to who will top the table but elsewhere in the league is a different story. What odds on Middlesbrough to take points off the top teams, drop some to the teams that end up relegated and ultimately finish thirteenth? For all the changes every season, there doesn't seem to be all that much difference from one season to the next.
That's because everyone is improving, which is undeniably a good thing for English football, but save for the odd injection of billions into a club like Chelsea, the table looks more or less the same year in year out. Football betting therefore has become something of an easier task, and something that an avid fan and strategist can take advantage of with very little risk.
