I have fond memories of City Life - Monte Cristo's single player city building game, which was released back in 2006. City Life offered a deeper, more engrossing city building experience than the average city sim. You weren't just trying to build a |

It feels like we've been waiting forever for Aion, although to be fair, in MMO development years, the game made it to market quite quickly. The first I saw of it was at E3 back in 2006. Since then, I've gone through moments of excited drooling - "Y |

Alten8, under its Retro-Soft arm, is proud to be releasing a limited edition CD-ROM compilation which will hark back to the glory days of British game software. The compilation features classic games for the ZX Spectrum, from well-known game authors such as Jonathan Cauldwell, the Shaw brothers, Paul Griffiths, Ian Williams and Manjinder Singh. Each copy sold will be numbered up to 200, and there will be space set aside in the inlay for each author to sign for extra authenticity.
Paul Andrews, director of Alten8 Ltd group, said "The Classic Gaming Expo will be a great chance for fans of retro games to meet and speak to people whose games they enjoyed back in the day, or are still playing now. With often huge teams making the games of today, people have lost that individual contact they used to feel they had with the authors, and people often don't know the names of today's games creators - just the company's."
"We're delighted to see the likes of Matthew Smith and Archer Maclane attending the show, and we're pleased to announce that many of the authors who have signed with us will be attending. We have a string of new retro authors to announce over the next few weeks, and along with re-releasing their games, we will be working to port them onto new formats as well."
"We will be releasing our first mobile phone conversions in early August 2005. We are also currently in discussions with various publishing and distribution companies for other formats, and have our own online shops ready to go. We aim to become the number one choice for people to re-releases their old games through, as well as attracting new and smaller developers world-wide."
Further information about the Classic Gaming Expo UK can be found on the CG Expo Web Site. Alten8 Ltd will have a prominent stand at the event, which shall be located next to Retro Gamer's stall |
